Fire & Smoke Damage Claims

A fire is one of the hardest things a property owner can go through. We take on the claim work so you can focus on your family, your business and your next steps.

A fire claim has many parts

The building is only one piece. Contents, smoke and soot contamination, water from firefighting, temporary housing and lost use of the property can all be part of the loss, depending on your coverage.

Because the claim is large and detailed, mistakes and omissions are common, especially when you’re also finding a place to stay.

We never contact anyone while a fire is in progress or emergency crews are on scene.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a full contents inventory?

If your personal or business property was damaged or destroyed, a detailed contents inventory may be an important part of your claim. We can help you document your belongings room by room, including descriptions, quantities, and other information needed to properly present the contents portion of your loss.

What are additional living expenses?

If a covered loss makes your home uninhabitable, Additional Living Expense coverage may help pay for the reasonable increase in living costs while your home is being repaired. This can include expenses such as temporary housing, increased meal costs, and certain other necessary expenses. Keep receipts and documentation for any additional costs you incur.

Can smoke damage be covered even if the fire was small?

Yes, depending on your policy and the circumstances of the loss. Smoke, soot, and odors can travel well beyond the area directly affected by the fire, potentially damaging walls, ceilings, flooring, HVAC systems, furniture, and personal property. Proper documentation is important to identify the full extent of the damage.

What does a public adjuster cost?

Public adjusters are typically paid a percentage of the claim proceeds. At All Storm Adjusting, our fee generally ranges from 10% to 30%, depending on the type and complexity of the claim, the services required, and applicable state requirements. Your exact fee will be discussed upfront and clearly stated in your written agreement before you hire us.

Can you guarantee a higher settlement?

No. Every claim is different, and no public adjuster can guarantee a specific outcome or settlement amount. What we can do is thoroughly evaluate and document your loss, prepare an accurate scope, present the claim to your insurance carrier, and advocate for the full amount you are entitled to under your policy.
