Claim problems

Underpaid Insurance Claims

If the insurance company’s estimate doesn’t cover what it takes to properly repair your property, you may have options.

Signs your claim may be underpaid

An estimate is a starting point, not a final answer. Carriers and property owners often see the same damage very differently, and the gap between the two can be significant.

We compare the carrier’s estimate to the actual conditions at your property and to what your policy provides, then put the differences in writing so they can be discussed line by line.

Common reasons estimates fall short

Damaged areas or items left out of the scope

Pricing below local labor and material costs

Partial repair approved where more is needed

Interior or hidden damage not inspected

Depreciation or deductibles applied incorrectly

Frequently asked questions

Will you get me more money?

We can’t guarantee a higher settlement. Our job is to thoroughly evaluate and document the loss, prepare an accurate scope, and present the claim to your insurance carrier. The outcome depends on the facts of the loss, available coverage, and the terms of your policy.

I already received a payment. Is it too late?

Not necessarily. Receiving an insurance payment does not always mean the claim is finished. We can review the carrier’s estimate, payment, and supporting documentation to determine whether there are additional items or damages that should be addressed. Policy terms and deadlines may apply, so it’s best to have the claim reviewed promptly.

What documents should I gather?

If available, gather your insurance policy or declarations page, the carrier’s estimate, payment information, claim correspondence, photos, and any contractor estimates or reports you’ve received. Don’t worry if you don’t have everything—we can help identify what documentation may be needed.

What does a public adjuster cost?

Our fee is typically a percentage of the insurance claim proceeds and generally ranges from 10% to 30%, depending on the type and complexity of the claim and services required. Your exact fee is discussed upfront and clearly stated in your written agreement before representation begins.

Are you an attorney?

No. We are licensed public adjusters, not attorneys, and we do not provide legal advice. If your claim involves legal issues outside the scope of public adjusting, we can work alongside your attorney when appropriate.
